Interesting prophesy because that’s exactly what happened.

Who was the Gentile you speak of?

Herod wasn’t a gentile.

Nero had nothing to do with the Jewish temple.

The Jewish temple.

No loss except to the Jews. God was done with the temple…new covenant and new priesthood.

Glad to explain my view.
Isaiah 47:6 kjv
6. I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

God does not think like us. God has in mind how much punishment he wants given (that much and no more). He has raised up people to punish Israel, but at times their punishment exceeded the punish they deserved. Then the punishers received / will receive punishment.
………..
I just messed up putting Nero’s name where it should have been Herod’s temple. (???)
…………
(Which Gentile)
1 Kings 5:1 kjv. (And following)
1. And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.

Hiram and his workers helped Solomon build the temple.

Solomon’s temple had dual builders.
As Paul talked about his wretched man side and his mind that served God (we have a battle inside us).
( Bi-polar?).
………….

Herod’s temple might have been more his than Israel’s. Todays dome may be more honest about who it belongs to.
………..

The tabernacle had symbolism that God ordained, but it seems maybe the temple lacked all the correct symbolism).

Our human body has all the correct symbolism from creation, to house the Holy Spirit (confess sins and exalt Jesus)

Oh yes there is. Just because you have yet to learn it, doesn't mean it doesn't. It just means you have no idea what I'm talking about.
Maybe someday you will learn how the beast recieved a mortal wound. Or in this case, when.

Please show the specific verse that associates the beast of Revelation to 70 AD.

Now notice that the Lord going forth and fighting against the nations is AFTER the women are all raped and half of the population are sent into slavery…..afterwards. He does NOT defend the city. Jerusalem was surrounded by armies from different nations in 70 AD and that’s what happened to them.

Did the Lord fight against the Romans in 70 AD?

Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
Zechariah 14:3

Did the Lord do this to the Romans in 70 AD?

And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet,
Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets,
And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.

Zechariah 14:12

Please show the specific verse that associates the beast of Revelation to 70 AD.

The beast recieved a fatal wound in 70 AD.
It was healed in 1948,and people from all over the world has followed after it.

As revelation says.
It once was, and is not and yet is. It did not exist in 96 ad when revelation was written. It had recieved the fatal wound prior to 96 ad. Not after.

Isaiah 47:6 kjv
6. I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
Why do you quote this?
God does not think like us. God has in mind how much punishment he wants given (that much and no more). He has raised up people to punish Israel, but at times their punishment exceeded the punish they deserved. Then the punishers received / will receive punishment.
Gods punishment never ever exceeds what is deserved. But let me ask you, how do you know this? By what standard are you determine God punished too much?

Well they supplied material and maybe some labor but that doesn’t mean a Gentile King built the temple.
Solomon’s temple had dual builders.

I’m not into symbolism. I’m too practical down to earth.

Did the Lord fight against the Romans in 70 AD?
In the verse you quote, he doesn’t fight anyone in the time when the women are raped and the people carried off into slavery. That happens later and yes Rome was judged and destroyed.
Then the LORD will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
Zechariah 14:3
After the women are raped, the battle over and lost and the people carried off into slavery.
Did the Lord do this to the Romans in 70 AD?
No, same as the scripture you quote says he doesn’t do that but let’s the war be LOST. When the women are raped and the civilians are all carried off into slavery, the war was lost. Doesn’t say he rescues them.
And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet,
Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets,
And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.

Zechariah 14:12
Obviously long after the war was over and deeply lost. Those are all likely metaphors. I didn’t study the fall of the Roman empire in detail. Even when Israel was totally in Gods will in battle they didn’t win by the description in those verses. God hasn’t ever won battles that way in terms of literal events.

But you know, isn’t it rather alarming to tell believers that the verses you quote are their future? I mean who wants to hear that those who are women will be raped and the people carried off into slavery with no rescue promised. God will judge the oppressors but long after they’ve suffered unspeakable horrors and slavery.

You do realize that they didn’t know the year was 70AD, right? It’s not quite as bad as someone requiring us to show where it’s written that Jesus was born in 3BC, or such.

Hebrews 11:36 kjv
36. And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37. They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38. I(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and inmountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Some of Israel prospered.
Some of Israel were martered.

In Christ Jesus those in the book of life will be in heaven for eternity.

Today there are different people in different conditions, all in Christ await the resurrection in faith.

There is a first death and a second death. The second death is avoided by belief in what Jesus accomplished.

Very, very, very, very great question.

Maybe because I followed the bread crumbs till I saw what was going on. Meaning in one sense I was allowed a glimpse into what is happening. Not because of some intellect I have. More like why is our fore head flat? (Why?) (because we slam our palm into our stupid forehead saying in amazement ( so that is why that happens).

God does not put on us more than we can bear.
1 Corinthians 10:13 kjv
13. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God isfaithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Yes women were raped.
Men were beaten, sawn
Children were killed

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God isfaithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

Our natural self could say (I can’t stand the thought). Satan will tell you ( you can’t stand it), And maybe our natural man can’t. So when I read the verse I cling to a promise rather than my weak self. God provides, and not the natural man. The bread crumbs in the wilderness kept them alive in the wilderness and they complained. Will we complain when we suffer? Death no longer has / will have dominion over us. The last enemy to be overcome is death.

The valley of the shadow of death is this life. Ultimate death is eternal separation from God for eternity. Eternal life is to be present with God for eternity.
Come Lord Jesus.

Dear Eddif,

I am afraid I am going with the character of God rather than what you have been personally shown in some spiritual experience. God NEVER EVER delivers unjust punishment although He does deliver merciful punishment (less than deserved.) His character is such that He NEVER EVER does moral wrong. If you will, besides the Bible which is the foundation of what I believe, I too have been personally shown in spiritual mind opening experiences that God is completely just and trustworthy. Those words do not really do his character justice.

And if you read what I said, we agreed that God does not put on us more punishment.
But
Our enemies put the extra on people, and ultimately God punishes our enemies.

Reread the last 15? posts I made. I think you have taken your thoughts and decided what I was saying.

That is what discussion is about.

This is what you said, “God does not think like us. God has in mind how much punishment he wants given (that much and no more). He has raised up people to punish Israel, but at times their punishment exceeded the punish they deserved.” That He used the hands of their enemies doesn’t mean it was more than deserved. This makes it actually unjust. Now God punished and ended Rome because they did their own evil behavior, not because they attacked Jerusalem and were doing the judgement of God.

But let me ask you, when do you think God’s punishment was more than deserved? Let’s examine your examples.

ok, but let’s look at the times you think the punishment by the enemies was more than then served and those sent to punish Israel were themselves punished for doing so beyond what was right. (How should they have known hat the limits were?)

If I pushed the point beyond what you meant my apologies. Maybe looking at examples will help

God did not end Rome. Rome is still fine as it was. God did not punish Rome. Insted he sent the apostles to Rome to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in hopes that many in Rome will be saved and recieve everlasting life. This was not punishment. This is love.

Where is the Roman empire today ?

Where is the Roman Senate ?

And Egypt and the enemies of isreal we're punished by God for their cruelty to isreal .

People are in the grave on planet earth, waiting for the resurrection and judgement.

eddif
OK, I can live with that answer. The Romans are in the grave. Pretty good answer actually, better than mine. My hat is off to you. Good answer!
