when someone states that we could live as we want and still be saved.
that is not Bible . i have listened to many teaching on this men i respect in the southern baptist and missionary. they will say your not free to live a s you want. then the next sentence say but you will not lose salvation :confused i think it was jack graham i heard on the radio say that . i draw the line there. imo there is possibility they was never saved . judas repented of himself. then commited suicide .peter repented with great remorse in turn preached at pentecost 3 thousand souls saved

so this cant be forgiven? i am glad your not my judge . because i will assure in my former life style .i used God name in vain in cussing told filthy jokes . ie ven smoked weed and drank beer on church steps.. shame on me but i been forgiven . i will assure you at some point or time in your life before Christ and i put me in this to. we have spoke a word against Christ . Paul on the damascus road was not on his way to sunday school class. he was on a mission to persecute Christians .which is same as speaking a word against . my writings/ grammar is not the best.

Based on the words of Jesus Christ, our Judge, blasphemy against the Spirit, which is plainly stated by the Lord, as speaking against the Holy Spirit, will not be forgiven in this age, or the age to come.

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:31-32

Based on your definition of blasphemy of the Spirit, Paul could never be forgiven, not in this age or the age to come.
i think you better read that again .because at no point did i say that this is what i posted
i find the only unforgivable sin is rejecting Christ that is what Christ was talking about they rejected him as the true messiah .in today's world we do have atheist and agnostics .we also have those who by their own good standards professed to be saved . even paul before being saved had a form of blasphemy :eek2 .he rejected jesus persecuted Christians . he said he done it out of ignorance even though eh felt he wa ok.
the only thing i should have added to make it clear was yet he got saved .. that clears any misconception on this. every thing else i stand by

Peter trusted Jesus.
Judas trusted himself.
and failed.
Peter loved Jesus.
Judas wanted Jesus to do it his way. (judas).
Like Sarah. It always ends up badly, one way or another.

I read and commented on what you stated.

Here is what you stated, and what I commented on.

i find the only unforgivable sin is rejecting Christ

Did Saul of Tarsus, reject Christ before he became the Apostle Paul?

Do you understand that Saul of Tarsus was a Pharisee, and most definitely was in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

Saul was practicing Judaism, a religion which rejects Jesus Christ as Messiah; claiming He is a false prophet.

If blasphemy of the Spirit was rejecting Jesus Christ, then Saul of Tarsus, who rejected Jesus as Messiah, could never have been saved, because he could never have been forgiven.

Blasphemy of the Spirit is speaking against the Holy Spirit in a derogatory way.

Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:32

In the example given in the bible it was specifically calling the Holy Spirit, Beelzebub.

Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
Matthew 12:24

No, I wasn’t a saint before salvation.

Blasphemy against the Spirit is speaking derogatory against the Spirit.

Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:32

No where did Jesus say, if you reject Me, you are blaspheming the Spirit.

Strongs G 988 - blasphemia

  1. slander, detraction, speech injurious, to another's good name
  2. impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty

No where did Jesus say, if you reject Me, you are blaspheming the Spirit.
and your definition is not found by jesus
Saul was practicing Judaism, a religion which rejects Jesus Christ as Messiah; claiming He is a false prophet.
dont get much more derogatory

have it the way you want. is still stand by what i posted

you need to add on to that the rejecting all the way up till called out of this world .which is continuous rejecting Jesus see in jesus time in math 12 they rejected Jesus himself .the very things he done they compared to as of satan . the pharisees despised Jesus. in todays world we can be guilty of Blasphemy by rejection all the way till God calls us home through unbelief. one of the Churches i was pastor of i had man coming that was between atheist and agnostic . he wanted the church to thrive he gave money. but his unbelief /blindness . he would not by this by faith and to this day he has nothing to do with God he needs more evidence .if rick dies in this condition he has committed the unpardonable sin.. once again i will assure you in our lost condition we have been guilty of Blasphemy .the difference is Christ opened our eyes gave us a heart to know him. he saved us changed us made us a new creation . i dont ask only one to jump on my bandwagon. this is my belief

and ? you helped prove my point thanks

Blasphemy is speaking against someone in a derogatory way.

This is what the Pharisees did in the example I gave.

They spoke against, blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

If simply rejecting Christ and His Gospel message was blasphemy against the Spirit, then Saul of Tarsus could have never been saved, because he could have never been forgiven.

Do you believe people who blaspheme the Spirit can be saved; being forgiven?

Saul of Tarsus was among those who despised Jesus.

Do you believe Saul of Tarsus blasphemed the Spirit?
did he persecute christians did he serve death warrants.. what was he doing on the road to damascus. i do not ask you to jump on my band wagon,, did i blaspheme the spirit in my old life style . did you? possible look i done my study and i stand where i am. you believe in praying in tongues --i dont believe its necessary. i am not questioning you. i really not sure why you asked this question, when i done used it. in another post

wrong blaspheme of the spirit this side of the cross is unbelief

this is from Billy Graham :
The sin of the religious leaders, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, was a refusal to accept the witness of the Holy Spirit to who Jesus was and what He had come to do, and then submit their lives to Him. Jesus said concerning the Holy Spirit, “When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8). They chose rather to reject the Spirit’s witness to their sin and to Jesus, and accused Him of being demon possessed!

The point for us is that if we have received Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit; we have accepted His witness. One study Bible explains it as follows: “To commit this sin one must consciously, persistently, deliberately, and maliciously reject the testimony of the Spirit to the deity and saving power of the Lord Jesus.” If a person keeps doing that until death, there is no hope of forgiveness and eternal life in heaven.

Once again, the unpardonable sin is not some particularly grievous sin committed by a Christian before or after accepting Christ, nor is it thinking or saying something terrible about the Holy Spirit. Rather, it is deliberately resisting the Holy Spirit’s witness and invitation to turn to Jesus until death ends all opportunity. i do not need Billy Graham to show what i believe . i simply did a google others believe different which is fine by me . i have broad shoulders can take it. .

to make this simple i have a brother who has been in ministry right at 40 years.. i respect him in the Lord.but there area few things i dint agree with him on. another man of God over 50 years years in the ministry deep respect . some things i dont agree with him... i am not going to haggle with you post after post.just because you think i am wrong

wrong blaspheme of the spirit this side of the cross is unbelief

Sorry bro, you can say wrong all you want, it just isn’t going to change the truth of the plain and clear example Jesus have us.

Blasphemy of the Spirit is speaking against the Spirit.

  • whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven

“Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Matthew 12:31-32

You can argue with the words of our Lord all you like, but it won’t do you any good, because His truth does not change.
