Re: WHY DID GOD GIVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS?

...Paul said he could do all things through Christ that strengthened him.

"...through faith...we establish the Law." (Romans 3:31 NASB)

Faith, given to us via the Holy Spirit, leads us into fulfillment of the law, the very thing the law of written words in and of itself could not do.

"27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances." (Ezekiel 36:27 NASB)

All most all, except God 7th Day Sabbath.

--Elijah
Incorrect. The Sabbath rest is satisfied by faith in Christ, too. Just because the literal fulfillment has been laid aside doesn't mean faith didn't fulfill that, too.

Think 'animal sacrifice for sin', and how that is fulfilled by faith in Christ, not destroyed, and how it doesn't have to be kept literally anymore, and you'll see how the literal Sabbath also is fulfilled in Christ, not destroyed, and doesn't have to be kept literally anymore. But you certainly can if you want.

when the YHWH made the earth the shabat and the week was to show that God made and provided and rested. he wanted isreal to remember that and that is why the shabat is listen in the ten. when Christ came he was a provision for our sins and we can rest in his provision of grace and physical needs.

Good point Elijah, that had slipped my mind.

Deborah13, read genesis 4 AND THEN comment about the offerings of abel to god.

The Ten Commandments are as ETERNAL as is Christ! (Eternally Immortal) they are the Moral makeup of the Godhead. All ten of them were known before mankind were! Heb. 13:20 No one could know what sin is without its explanation. 1 John 3:4
And they are found in the Most Holy place in the Heavens where Christ is doing His last work as our High Priest. Rev. 11:18-19

His offering use the firstfruit of the womb and the best (fat).

Oh and probably male, too.
not that I disagree with the wording but it shows the mosaic bias of moses being the author.likely he did do that as commanded by God

I think too, it could have been only for worship, not sin.
In the story of the three brothers we already see, the two covenants and the Savior.

The Ten Commandments are not ALL of what we are required to keep.

We are to obey His Voice!

Loving God, means obeying His Voice!

The sin that brought death to the entire human race was disobeying Gods Voice.

True living faith is found in hearing and doing what God says, not just hearing!

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

The Ten Commandments has no provision for faith.
