On the day of Pentecost two separate groups received the Baptism in the Spirit, numbering 120 (Ac. 1:14) and 3,000 (Ac. 2:38-41).

The First Group (Ac. 1:14) were followers of Jesus from the days of John the Baptist to His resurrection (Ac. 1:21-22). A sound from heaven like rushing wind filled the house, and tongues of fire sat upon each of their heads and they spoke in languages of Parthians, Medes, Elamites, Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Libya, Cyrene, and Rome (Acts. 2:8-10).

The Holy Spirit filled (Ac. 2:4) their spirit (Rom. 8:5-16), God breathing into their souls the breath of lives (Gen. 2:7), they became "new creatures" (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:15) risen in Christ (Rom. 6:3-4; Col. 2:12), born "from above" (John 3:7-8; 1 Pet. 1:3) .The "washing of regeneration and renewing" (Tit. 3:5) gave birth to their "inner man" (Eph. 3:16; Col. 3:10). They became partakers of divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4) passing from death into life (John 5:21, 24-26).

Only their soul was made alive, all of this was Spirit to spirit (Rom. 8:5-16) because our Holy God cannot abide with sin and touches no unclean thing (Rom. 7:18; 8:7-13). The flesh must wait for the resurrection yet future (1 Cor. 15:12, 51-55; Rev. 20:5).

Of these 120 unique followers of Christ only the Twelve Apostles did signs and wonders (Ac. 2:42-43).

When the Second Group received the Holy Spirit (Ac. 2:38-39) there was no sound from heaven like a rushing wind. Tongues of fire did not rest upon their heads. They did not speak foreign languages.

Confirming the 3,000 saved that day did not manifest revelatory gifts is the fact these were so uncommon they were deemed a "sign from God" of something new (Acts 10:44-47; 15:7-8). God also employed this sign to confirm salvation is only by public confession Jesus is LORD (Acts 19:1-7; 4:12). That this was a special group of Jews who received the revelatory gifts is evident by it being specially noted these were "Twelve" in number (Acts 19:7), clearly implying they were part of this exclusive group of Jews who would establish the Church (1 Cor. 12:28).

The "outward physical evidence" the 3,000 were filled with the Holy Spirit was their changed heart and mind towards God and His Truth, and love for His people (Acts. 2:42-47 Compare 1 Pet. 1:22-23).

That the "outward physical evidence" was the SAME for BOTH the 120 and 3,000 follows from it being a function of "the One Body of Christ", "the One Spirit who regenerates", "the One Faith all belong to", "the One Baptism common to every believer". Every believer is baptized in the Holy Spirit of God whether they "feel" it or not.

Just as the "soul" cannot be "physically felt", neither can the soul's regeneration into a new creature be "physically felt", it happens in the dimension of the spirit senses cannot sense. That is why Scripture is silent about "physical sensations in body or brain" as though any could indicate when the Holy Spirit is working. None can. The regeneration of the human soul into a "new creature" can only be spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:14) and logically inferred from many lines of evidence in the Holy Scriptures. Unless God specially grace the believer nothing will be "felt" as "the Spirit communicates to the human soul His divine nature animating the soul with eternal life. It is born again, from above. What formerly was like a ghost is now a "new creature in Christ." The believer spiritually discerns the changed perceptions, now they "KNOW" God is their Father! Truth formerly obscure is now wonderfully illuminated. The beauty and necessity of Christ, His incarnation and ransom sacrifice are understood beyond natural understanding.

Therefore, on the Day of Pentecost we expect to see THE SAME EVIDENCE of the New Birth in both the 120 who received special empowerment and the 3,000 saved who did not

Both the 120 and 3000 show "holy fear" at the signs done by the Twelve Apostles, and BOTH manifest the Holy Spirit is in them by their devotion to God's Truth and His people:

43 Then fear came upon EVERY soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44 Now all who believed
were together, and had all things in common,
45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:43-47 NKJ)
The "outward physical evidence" they were baptized in the Spirit was in their changed perception, their love for God, His Truth, and His children. Being baptized in the Spirit, the "washing of regeneration" is the SAME for every born from above believer from the Day of Pentecost until today:

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism
;
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Eph. 4:4-6 NKJ)
The one Spirit Personally indwells every member of the body of Christ, BUT to "each one" was given "the grace" (ἡ χάρις) to accomplish the work God appointed they do (Eph. 2:10):

But unto each one of us was the grace (ἡ χάρις) given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. (Eph. 4:7 ASV)
The church receives gifts (Eph. 4:10-13) according to God's will (Eph. 4:7; 1 Cor. 12:11), but the One Spirit Personally indwells every member of the church equally so all are "the children of God".

Therefore, the 120 unique followers of Christ who received special grace to establish Christianity while the New Testament was still being written, were precisely like the 3000 born from above on that day. Never is it said they were superior in any way, to the 3,000 saved that day.

Today's "born again experience" is the exactly the same believers experienced on the Day of Pentecost, the time of the maximum manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. All perceive they are changed, loving God, His Truth and His People like never before.

According to Romans 8:5-16 the Holy Spirit bypasses the carnal nature to commune with the human spirit. As He bypasses the flesh entirely, everything He does is beyond the physical senses of touch and physical sensation. Perception will be changed, they will know God is their ABBA Father, and the truth of God and love for His people will be the new paradigm.

When the spiritual man is created, "the ghost in the machine" regenerated by God's Spirit so it becomes "a new creature" (2 Cor. 5:17). Any physical sensations are the body's reaction to what the Spirit has done to the human spirit. Adrenaline endorphins etc. produced in reaction to the spiritual new birth aren't unexpected, but we cannot confuse the horse with the cart. None of them are evidence of the New Births as each person will physically react differently to this supernatural event called "the new birth." Many will "feel nothing physically but know in their heart of hearts, God is now their ABBA Father!":

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Rom. 8:16 KJV)
This "bearing witness" can't be physically felt, its spiritually discerned just like the Holy Spirit's bearing witness to our conscience can't be physically felt:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14 KJV)
I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, (Rom. 9:1 NKJ)
What is Spirit is spirit, beyond physical senses (1 Cor. 2:13-14). God speaks to us "face to face" through our conscience (Rom. 9:1) teaching us as we read the Word of God the Bible---the "sword of the Spirit" (Heb. 4:12):

12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Heb. 4:12-13 NKJ)

27 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. (Jn. 10:27-28 NKJ)

As both the 120 and 3000 on the Day of Pentecost and every believer since then until today receives the Holy Spirit in the same exact way, but are given grace differently according to God's Will for them, all who divide the Church into "have and have nots" are clearly wrong.

1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, `Hear the word of the LORD!'"
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

22 "Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.
23 "Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD."'"
(Ezek. 13:--3, 22-23 NKJ)

3 Do not let the son of the foreigner Who has joined himself to the LORD Speak, saying, "The LORD has utterly separated me from His people"; Nor let the eunuch say, "Here I am, a dry tree."

4 For thus says the LORD: "To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant,
5 Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off.
6 "Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, And to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants-- Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant--
7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

As every believer was in fear of the signs done by the apostles, only THEY did the signs.

That is elementary deduction.

Do you think the Bible is a complete record of everything that happened during the time of Jesus and the apostles ?

It is impossible the special manifestation of tongues among the 120 not be reported, for the same reasons it is impossible that same manifestation not be reported as happening among the 3,000...if it did.

Therefore, it clearly did happen to them. Unlike the 120, they didn't speak in tongues yet all were baptized in the Holy Spirit precisely the same, because all experienced the outward physical evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit: Love for God's Doctrine and His People.

40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation."
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,
45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:40-47 NKJ)

Compare:
37 Jesus said to him, "`You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38 "This is the first and great commandment.
39 "And the second is like it:`You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
(Matt. 22:37-40 NKJ)

My question is above and it is a yes or no answer question . A simple question .
It is impossible the special manifestation of tongues among the 120 not be reported, therefore it is also impossible that same manifestation not be reported as happening among the 3,000.

So, it clearly did happen to them.
I got a non answer .
Can I get a yes or no answer ?

No, of course not:
And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen. (Jn. 21:25-1:1 NKJ)

But God wrote the Bible precisely as it is, in order that the Man of God be fully equipped for every good work:

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3:16-17 NKJ)

Knowing God's truth is a good work.

Adding to the Bible is not:

32 "Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

1 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,
2 "and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying,`Let us go after other gods'-- which you have not known--`and let us serve them,'
3 "you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 "You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
(Deut. 12:32-13:4 NKJ)

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isa. 8:20 NKJ)

On the day of Pentecost two separate groups received the Baptism in the Spirit, numbering 120 (Ac. 1:14) and 3,000 (Ac. 2:38-41).
I just read all of Acts 1. Where does it say….the 120 also received the baptism in the Holy Spirit?
All i see is this..…
- And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
This is the end of chapter 1. The focus is on the “apostles”.

- And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
The very next verse which didnt exist when this letter was written it was just one continuous thought not broken into chapters, uses the word “they”. Who are the “they”? ”they” refers back to the apostles in the previous verse. It does not include all of the 120 way back in verse 14, the context had changed and the focus is now on just the apostles.

- And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Again, the “they” is the apostles. Just follow the discussion back and you will see that. If the “they” includes all of the 120 then you are wrong in that ALL of them spoke in tongues and performed the miraculous. You said they didnt.
This is just reading comprehension 101. You are adding a group that was not in consideration.

- And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
I do not believe that ALL of the 120 were from Galilea.

- Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Acts 1:26-2:1,4,7,13-14
These ”men”? It then immediately mentions Peter and the eleven which we know are the apostles.

So, this DOES NOT include the 120. You are adding a group that Luke never added.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me;
5 "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." (Acts 1:4-5 NKJ)

NKJ Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4 NKJ)

If only their soul was made alive, 2 Cor 5:17 is wrong.
It is written..."Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
"All" things are made new.

Context is the key to correctly interpreting scripture. "All" in context refers to the "old things are passed away". The body did not pass away, neither did the soul or spirit.

QUESTION—What are the old things that have come to an end?
1. The old things are all previous conditions and relationships [EBC], the old form of human life [ICC2], the former sinful condition [ICC1, Lns], the pre-conversion life and lifestyle [My, NTC, TG, TH, TNTC; CEV, NLT]. It is all old allegiances, desires, affections, and viewpoints [Ho]. It is all old things and relationships that were characterized by κατὰ σάρκα ‘according to the flesh’ [HNTC, SP]. It is all the distinctions, prejudices, enslavements and misunderstandings of the pre-conversion life.-Abernathy, D. (2008). An Exegetical Summary of 2 Corinthians (2nd ed., p. 210). All, in the context of 2 Cor 5:17 is...all.
New creatures, what has been created after our crucifixion and burial with Christ to walk in newness of life, are new creatures.
Like Jesus' parable about new wine needing new bottles, and new cloth being put on old garments, putting a new Spirit into an old vessel just won't work. (Matt 9:16-17)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;

old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new.
(2 Cor. 5:17 NKJ)

All the old things that passed away, became new.

You are adding to the word of God, "new creatures". That NOT in the text. Then you jump to a parable, to ignore what Paul said.

You have every right to deceive yourself, but become liable when you try to convince others.

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. (Jas. 3:1 NKJ)

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me;
5 "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." (Acts 1:4-5 NKJ)

Exactly. Read the whole text. The context is…Jesus is with THE APOSTLES, nobody else.
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also (the apostles)he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them (apostles) forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, (the apostles) commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (this was to the apostles)
Acts 1:1-5
After this we find this…
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Acts 1:11
Ye MEN of Galilee. He was not talking to The 120. There were no women there.
It’s not difficult if you will just read and not be blinded by false doctrine.

Are you saying the 12 and 120 experienced supernatural things from God that don't apply to Christians today? That is "cessationism", NOT "continuism".

So you now admit I am right?

I am a "cessationist" precisely because of the things you now notice AND many more. The Twelve and Paul wrote Scripture.... Scripture writing ceased after they went to the Lord = Cessationism NOT Continuism.

You said that the 120 received the same thing as the apostles and you used acts 1 as your proof. All I did is point out the error in your teaching by using ALL the text to show that the promise he made in acts 1 was to the apostles and NOT the 120. The 120 DID NOT receive the baptism of the HS.

All you did is prove cessationism correct. That means, YOUR continuism is false.

And I do NOT agree anyone on the Day of Pentecost, the 12, 120 or 3,000 didn't equally receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit:

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
(Eph. 4:4-7 NKJ)

The 12 and 120 were given special grace to establish Christianity. That grace was for them only, those personally chosen by Christ. BUT ALL (+ 3000) manifested the outward physical evidence of a changed heart, love for God and His people and holy fear of offending our Awesome God:

(Acts 2:41-47 NKJ)

That SAME "born again experience" happens today to EVERY true believer in Christ, there are no second class Christians. There is only One Baptism for all in the ONE body of Christ.
