What is The Baptism that saves us now?

We all should realize it is the belief of the person being baptized that matters.
Not the spiritual state of the one doing the immersing.
The pride and phony appearance of power is all that matters in the ritual.
It's all about pride in the observable power of the flesh .
The very thing Christ despised .
This is why baptismal certifications feature the Official Title and High "holy" authority of the baptizer .

You need to the further examine and fully understand the ritual of the flesh you are advocating.

Have no idea what you are talking about here.

Baptism in water? It’s all about pride? Still don’t get it.

Says who? Book chapter and verse please.

They are not books, they are certificates.
Baptismal certificates featuring the holy person of power officiating the ritual .
You need to research the ritual you are advocating and then you will be able to speak to the fact of why there are offical Baptismal Certificates issued featuring the name and holy authority of the baptizer ?

Who gets a “baptismal certificate”? Nobody I have ever met.

A Baptism Certificate I understand but what is all this "featuring the holy person of power officiating the ritual" and what has it to do with pride?

Yes. We are baptized into Christ by the Spirit.

Paul teaches us we must present the members of our body as members of righteousness, thereby no longer presenting our members as slaves to sin. The sin that continues to dwell in our flesh.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

We are not to walk according to our flesh. Why?

Why are we to not walk according to our flesh if it is sinless?

Our flesh still contains sin.

JLB
It isn't OUR flesh anymore.
It is the temple of the Holy Ghost...and it is pure.

There is only one verse in post 512. I’ve dealt with it.
You are correct. There are many passages that deal with baptism. Rom 6 is a great description of exactly what baptism is and what is for. He is drawing a picture so there is no confusion.
Here are a few that mention baptism.
Maybe you can help me..
Mk 16:16. Is this water?
Matt 28: 19. Water?
Acts 2:38. Water?
Acts 8: 12,13. Water?
Acts 8:38,39. Water?
Acts 10: 48 Water?
Acts 16:15. Water?
Acts 16:33. Water?
Acts 18:8. Water?
Acts 19:5. Water?
Acts 22:16. Water?
Please tell me which ones are water and which ones are not. This is very important and nobody wants to go down the list. These converts are examples for us. We are not saved in a different way from the very first converts. It is called a “common salvation” for a reason. Did these people above just accept Jesus as savior without being immersed in water? If so we need to know. If not then we can quit teaching that doctrine because we’ll know it’s false.

There is Johns baptism that is no longer in effect.
There is HS baptism that is no longer in effect. If it is then show me the examples where the Spirit was baptizing all of these converts in the book of acts.
There is great commission baptism in water that is still in effect today. This is the “one baptism” of Eph 4. We know this is the one baptism because Jesus commanded it to be done AFTER preaching the gospel in order to save sinners. Mk 16:16. Acts 2:38. Please show me where Jesus EVER commanded HS baptism! He never did. There is actually more then 3 baptisms, like the baptism unto Moses, baptism of suffering, baptism of fire which is yet to come. So if you want to talk baptisms plural I am more then happy to do that.
Why do you think the Holy Spirit baptism is no longer in effect?
Isn't it promised my Peter at the same time he commanded water baptism in Acts 2:38?
Holy Spirit baptism is the same as the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Cornelius and the twelve at Ephesus are the best examples of both these baptisms.

Full of pride and immorality they are.
Pride and prestige are the motivation behind the administrators of the baptismal performance .
Adorning themselves in silk robes and luxurious surroundings at the expense of the those poor who assist them in their performance.
You will find none of them living less than in the lap of luxury.
The poor do get a certificate however.

Really ?
So is it your opinion that the majority of baptized people today did not receive any document in connection ?
If their repentance form sin was true, they will get the gift of the Holy Ghost.
And that is manifested by speaking in tongues.
Why would we need "paperwork"?

Of course the Holy Spirit baptism is in effect, and has been since the day of Pentecost. Anyone who denies this (or even doubts it) hasn't received it (or has and isn't aware of it, which is tragic.)

You really don't understand this??? Don't your "priests" officiate the ritual of baptism?

I didn't receive any paperwork when I was baptized in water, but I did receive the gift of speaking in tongues prior to my baptism. In other words, I was first baptized in the Holy Spirit, then I was symbolically buried and resurrected as the new person I had become in Christ.

All the theorizing about baptism is just that -- theory -- to me.

There is nothing prideful
Just because you say it is doesn't make it true.

Hi jaybo. I thought you were ignoring me!
Priests and deacons officiate, but what is your point?
Baptism certificates have a practical purpose.

Any scripture to support that?

No, I thought not.

The Holy Spirit is given at baptism (in water) but that is not the (so called) Baptism of the Spirit.

Yes and no.
Yes because both baptism in water and the (so-called) Baptism of the Holy Spirit are seperate events at both.
But no because Cornelius is a special case - see my post #56

Too bad your burial and resurrection with Christ was only symbolic.
It was a real event for me, thanks be to God.

Not necessarily, as a true "turn from" sin is also necessary.
And yes, water baptism usually happens before the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Correct, showing that there is more than just one baptism in each instance.

Cornelius' case differed only in that it was set up by God to impress upon the visiting Jews that God had also accepted the Gentiles into the church.
They received the gift of the Holy Ghost before their water baptism.
