Happy Sabbath

Most God fearing Christians are already walking in a good portion of Torah without even realizing it. So yes, some are zealous for the law, but that isn't a bad thing.

Amen, and for those who are not? May our Lord cause it to happen that He be all-in-all. Let the zeal of the House of God (this is us, brothers, sisters: us. We are the house of God) consume us as it has our Lord. Walking in Holiness and apart from the world is not a new thing. It is the Word given to The Christ, spoken to his followers and repeated even now.

Turn our hearts, Lord. Let the hearts of the children be turned to You, our Father.

Whats disappointing, is the fact that most people who want to observe the feast of Pentecost, have never been Baptized in the Holy Spirit.

They would rather keep celebrating the shadow and never partake of the substance.

Ever learning, yet never experiencing the truth of what they are learning.

Now that is truly disappointing.

JLB
I'm amazed with your blanket statement most people aren't Spirit filled who observe Pentecost. is the whole world in your hands? Ever been to a Pentecost celebration? Please point me to this wonderful fact you have uncovered showing Pentecost observers are not Spirit filled. please don't hide this from all to see.

Ryan,

It has been my experience that those who involved in trying to keep the Law of Moses, which includes feast days, and Sabbath days and such, are not baptized in the Holy Spirit.

That has been my experience.

If I have offended you somehow, that is not my intent.

Are you baptized in the Holy Spirit?

I am just asking. Maybe you could shed some light on this subject for me.

Thanks JLB
What is one of the purposes of the giving of the Holy Spirit? Relevant passage can be found in Ezekiel.

Not giving of the Holy Spirit, but Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

As Jesus commanded -

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

as well as Paul -

4 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Acts 19:4-6

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit as Jesus told them would happen not many days from now, on the day of Pentecost.

The feast of Pentecost pointed us to the reality and substance which came on that day.

Now this is available to all.

Have you partaken of the reality of Pentecost, which is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost?

If you haven't been Baptized in the Holy Spirit, I encourage you to ask God for this, and go to a Church that believes and teaches and operates in this beautiful gift from God.

I think it would be good to celebrate Pentacost as remembrance of the beginning of the church.
I've never been to a church that actually did this, but I think it should be celebrated with food and fellowship on the church grounds.

As regards the Holy Spirit, Whose work and activity are essential, the Lord Jesus said: 'He shall not speak of Himself' (John 16.13); 'He shall testify of me' (John 15.26).

George, Ryan was being open and humble in his comment -

If I were to sin to cause me to have a catastrophic collapse of relationship with our Creator, I pray someone would point me out to me my blindness and sin.

I don't see why you needed to "blast" him the scripture that you did.

IMHO

JLB
Well judging and condemning others is a catastropic sin, that can and will destroy a christians relationship with the Lord, more than most any other sin. Also we see that Ryan and others seem to want to help others see their sin, thus I responded in context to this situation.
I have seen you use very clear and direct terms with others, and even add some judgment to the scriptures as it seems to please you? Maybe you should read those scriptures also?

Eze. 8

[16] And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
[17] Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
[18] Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Sun worshiping & they even put up their nose in the air while doing so?? And does that sound familiar!!

actually he doesn't.he is going through what I went through briefly.some messianic jews come across as legalists. ryan isn't.they have an over zealous love for the torah and wish to worship jesus via the kosher laws and the shabat and the feasts.in time God will balance him out.
Well not a legalist, God calls us to be kadosh, so Leviticus is a pretty good book for instructions on how to walk in holiness. In reality Jason, those three things you mentioned, are probably the three areas of differences in our walk of faith between most Torah observers and those who say they don't. Most God fearing Christians are already walking in a good portion of Torah without even realizing it. So yes, some are zealous for the law, but that isn't a bad thing.

Matthew 24:12 (CJB)

12 and many people’s love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah.

I hopefully will be embarking on a study that in the first 4 chapters of Genesis, lies the foundation for the rest of scriptures. It should be fun. Besides why not study Torah, if we want to know the end, we have to start at the beginning.

Isaiah 46:10 At the beginning I announce the end, proclaim in advance things not yet done; and I say that my plan will hold, I will do everything I please to do.

I agree with that but remember what we do keep in the torah, isn't the kosher laws but the idea of the basic sins that God has always hated. shabat, and the feasts aren't required from the Lord. a gentile was never under the law. remember the gentiles had to join isreal first then became Hebrews. noach, enoch and even Abraham weren't under much of that mosaic law.

yes they do, they call the holy spirit the RUACH KADOSH. I have a friend of mine that I stay in contact with that is well versed in messianic Judaism, he like me is a jew, the holy ghost told him he was a jew and later learned it that indeed he had jewish lineage. he had the hints and always thought he was one.

Ryan, Matthew 24:12 doesn't say law or Torah, nor does the context have anything to do with the law of Moses.

Why would you say such a thing.

oops. the torah is a teaching about how to love. if you really read it.

is It love then not steal? yes. what about not to lie? yes, what about not to murder? yes.

sheesh. jesus quotes the torah and commands the church to learn and do the first two commands of the ten commandments which are the most important aspect!

Believing in the God of Israel, was always first. When God spoke at Mt. Sinai, he was already speaking to a redeemed people. Not to an unredeemed people. Faith always precedes beginning to learn the commandments. The redeemed people made up of Abraham's descendents and goyim from other nations. I believe in one law for all people. I don't have in front of me the verse in the Torah of one law for all whether an alien or native.
