Pre-trib Rapture is not scriptural

It's interesting that one cannot get anything but 70 continuous weeks from Daniel. Putting a break in there between the 69th and 70th weeks seems quite unwarranted and changes the prophecy of Daniel.

Hello brother Free, I will try and answer as best I can, I have studied this in depth.

23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. {{ Jesus died for our sins, but he did not make and end of sins, that will be done when "Everlasting Righteousness" is brought in, and all visions and prophecy are "Finished"/Sealed up. Notice, transgressions will be finished after the 70th Week. }}

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. {{ Gabriel divides the 70 Weeks in Three different periods if you will notice, the 7 weeks plus the 62 weeks, he leaves off the Final week, so Gabriel speaks of Three different time periods, the Seven weeks, the 62 weeks and then when the Messiah is cut of after 69 weeks, there has to be one week left, so Gabriel divides this prophecy into three distinct periods. }}

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. {{ The Messiah is Cut Off, after 69 Weeks, but below we see a man that makes a covenant for one week, then breaks this covenant in the middle of the week. The people of the prince that will come, will destroy the City (Jerusalem) and the sanctuary. (AD 66-70) But the Peace Deal below is a clue, a huge clue. Every scripture we have about this 42 months, 1260 days, 3 1/2 years (Middle of the week, Below) references End Time Events in Revelation or Daniel, all Seven times. }}

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

{{{ If the Sanctuary and City are destroyed before this Deal is made, then the 70 Weeks can not be continual, hence the 70th Week would have ended in a 7 year period after Jesus was crucified, so circa 40 A.D. And as we see, at the end of the war, desolation's are determined. So the desolation has to be AD 66-70 or later. So we know the last week is not continual. And Jesus stated about the Abomination of desolation, exactly when it would happen. It has to be put together like a Mosaic:

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: (End Times Prophecy)

Revelation 12:6 And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Revelation 12:14 And to the woman (Israel) were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (3 1/2 Years)

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time (1 year) and times (2 years) and the dividing of time. (1/2 year) or 3 1/2 years total.

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

This "Man" that breaks this peace deal/covenant in the middle of the week is IN HE END TIMES in all Prophecy. He has power over the Saints for 42 Months. He is the Beast/Anti-Christ, so this Week has to be at the End Times.

Daniel use the word heptad, it implies Seventy Sevens, not 70 calendar weeks per say. In other words Seventy Sevens have been determined against Israel.

God Bless, that is the best I can do.....But we have to understand this prophecy or many other things we will get wrong.

Jesus' ministry is the 70th week. He was cut down in the midst of it, the 70th week coming directly after the 7 and 62 weeks, naturally. The 70th week ended with the stoning of Stephen, after which the gospel was extended to the Gentiles, previously being limited to Daniel's people and the city of Daniel's people, Jerusalem.

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.” Daniel 9:26-27

He was cut off after the sixty 69th week.

The events of verse 26 take us well past the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans, yet the 70th week is still to come.

It's interesting that one cannot get anything but 70 continuous weeks from Daniel. Putting a break in there between the 69th and 70th weeks seems quite unwarranted and changes the prophecy of Daniel.

If one reads the prophecy as it is given, then one would have to consider the way the time line is broken up into 3 distinct sections, and not one continuous 70 week time frame.

“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week

And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”
Daniel 9:24-27

Seven weeks.
Sixty Two weeks
One week.

Then when a person discovers how the prophetic clock begins, and how the "trigger" for the clock starting in each of three time frame sections is initiated, then it becomes more clear.

...the going forth of the command, to restore and build Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince,

  • A world ruler of the world governing body, started the prophetic clock ticking, whereby the work began.
That ruler was Cyrus, who was called by God to lay the foundation of the Temple, and rebuild the city of Jerusalem.

Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he shall perform all My pleasure,
Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,”
And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.”’
Isaiah 44:28

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lordby the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

2 Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:

All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. 3 Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem.4 And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem. Ezra 1:1-4

  • Another ruler of the world governing body, caused the work to cease.

23 Now when the copy of King Artaxerxes’ letter was read before Rehum, Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem against the Jews, and by force of arms made them cease.24 Thus the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem ceased, and it was discontinued until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

  • Another world ruler of the world governing body, caused the work to begin again.

...and it was discontinued until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

  • Messiah the Prince fulfilled the first Sixty Nine weeks.

Therefore a final world ruler will cause the the clock to start the final seven week time period, known as Daniel's Seventieth Week.

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week, he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

If your interpretation is true then you should be able to give the exact years for the beginning and end of the 7 weeks as well as the exact years for the beginning and end of the 62 weeks. What are they?

So why does Daniel prophecy 69 consecutive weeks and not mention a gap between the 69th and 70th weeks, a gap which is significantly larger than then entire 70 weeks? That's a huge detail to leave out, given the rest of the detail he gives. It seems to me that as Daniel mentions no gap, a plain reading gives 70 consecutive weeks. Putting a gap in there is reading into the text.

Our Job is done, in that we have preached the Gospel into all the world. That was the calling of the Gentile Church.
When is the following to happen which has become known as the Great Commission? Baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. ??? And then in Mt 28:18 below, has Jesus taken that ALL POWER, or isn’t the fullness of the Gentiles complete?

Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

I am speaking in future tense. When we the Church are Raptured, then the times of the Gentiles will be fulfilled. Of course that is not done yet, but I do think it is imminent, or very, very close, and when we are called to meet Jesus, the Churches job will have to be over. Then the 144,000, the Two Witnesses and Angels will start preaching the Gospel. The Two Witnesses will have a world wide audience and for 3 1/2 years no one will be able to harm or touch them.

So my speaking about our work being done, is contingent upon the Rapture happening, then our work is done.

Great post, much more eloquent them my ramblings, I was very sleepy so I have an excuse. LOL.

The Hebrew word used by Daniel is shabuwa meaning "sevened" so seventy sevens has been decreed. ( Heptad is used for week, seven, period of seven (days or years ) The actual word Daniel used only means 70, 7"s, the word used for weeks is heptad, so Daniel didn't even use the word for weeks, but instead used another word. I

The three distinct time frame elements can be seen within the language of the prophecy.

Ignoring this prophetic language and the distinct time frame separations invited misunderstanding.

Jesus said it this way -

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), Matthew 24:15

...let him understand.

Separating 69 from 70 shows the Cross of Christ to be plan 'B''

Placing the Crucifixion within the 70 week time frame makes the Cross exclusive to Jews only.

The Grace of the Gospel is extended to both Jew and Gentile.

Three distinct time frames is irrelevant as to whether or not there is a break in between the 69th and 70th weeks. Is there a break in between the first 7 weeks and the next 62 weeks?

I think hes on to something brother, I think his point was, and it was a nice point I hadn't thought of, was that certain events kicked off every prophecy. The last week has to have a Temple being made filthy, or an Abomination of Desolation, at the End of time, because Jesus prophesied that to be a fact, the time of the end will come when the Gospel is preached to the end of the world, then he says in the very next verse that when you see the Abomination of Desolation, spoke by Daniel, flee Judea and don't look back. I think that the last week however will be started because of the Rapture.

We must remember also, Israel was not really a country for almost 2000 years, how can God make them pay penance when they are not a country ? So the long intermission isn't really any longer between circa 2016 and AD 70, Israel was not a true country again until 1948. In Gods final week of penance against Israel, he wants to have everything wrapped up, those Gentiles who were grafted in, as promised to Abraham, will have been grafted in. God wants Israel to understand once and for all that Jesus is their Messiah, then He will save them from the wicked. In order to do that He has to destroy all the wicked. This is why the Gentiles had to be brought to the Lord first, before the destruction of the wicked, else we would have had no chance to be saved as Christians.

Jesus will take us home soon. Amen.

Rondmon, you quoted my post but didn't answer the question I asked. Is there a break between the first 7 weeks and the next 62 weeks?

The way i understand it there is now no 'holy place" and even if a new temple is built ,by man, there will not be a 'holy place'.
