I know most charismatics are occupied with prophecy (not preaching), it is a huge part of the movement. They are focused on a word from God rather than obedience to the word of God and sanctification of ones own life.

Please do a survey of the Corinthian church and where they learned their pagan practices from. What they were doing was not from Holy spirit.

They even cursed Christ

Let me ask you this. If Christians are not "baptized with the holy spirit" are they not truly saved?

And if they are saved, what can they not do that those that are "baptized with the holy spirit" can do?

some of this gets into interpretation of scriptures , we are baptized by the spirit at the new Birth by one spirit are we baptized into the body of Christ. in infilling paul said be not drunk with wine in excess but be filled with the spirit. i see this as if we get loaded with wine we do bonehead things due to the influence of the wine. filled with the spirit we are under the influence of the spirit led to do the the right thing . i also realize many take this as speaking in tongues..i do not.

i may disagree with this interpretation. if asked i will say why i do but other than that. i feel that belongs to them and not me .

When I mentioned prophecy. I meant the movement is occupied with predicting the future and end times. I find many professing Christians focus on that instead of what is essential to their own sanctification.

Jesus is the one who baptizes / authorizes baptism in the Holy Spirit. Right now I can not explain that.
Tongues interpretation are not the only gifts. Teaching, preaching is given to the Church. Teaching all things is mandated.

What was the last prophesy you promoted to the people of God ?
Why haven't you given your last prophesy here already ?
For me I would think that having been gifted possession of a prophesy from God & then withholding it from God's people would be an insurmountable burden to bear.
You must be in torment keeping such prophesies from God all bottled up inside you ?

I can not explain something I have not seen . I have seen no "insistent emphasis to keep His transforming message selfishly hidden under a table , in the dark". What I have seen is proper operation of the Gift of tongues in a worship service .

How is the power of God released by selfishly not sharing what God has given ?
These secretive inactions regarding what God has supposedly given to a select very special few are dark indeed .
God foreordains spiritual gifts for one purpose only to bloom and be given freely and abundantly in the light of His Love.

Who are these "select very special few" ? They are the people that attended a church service where a message was given out through the gift of tongues . It does take effort on our part to attend church . I know this may seem drastic to you but you could attend a Pentecostal church service or two and see if you can come to greater understanding of the Gifts of The Holy Spirit .

This business being talked about here smacks of the human spirit, and desires of the flesh.

Why then have you not shared a single word of your last gifted prophesy here on this forum to those hungry for God's interpreted message ?

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2Ti 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

I could never even fathom that the Bible is not enough for the Lords work. I have been in many Pentecostal/charismatic churches and I know they do not think that the Bible is enough. The scriptures above would even be questioned.
