Baptism in the Spirit: The experience

I am 77 years old and gave my life over to Jesus when I was ten years old. I was baptised (full immersion) by my request when I was twelve years old. I sought the gifts of the Spirit in my late teens, (not tongues) there are better gifts, and God still has not completed his work in me. I am still growing in faith while I write. The Lord has to complete His work in me, I still have to grow in grace, and I am far from being perfected. The work may never be complete until I reach heaven's glory. Thanks for reading.
Did you not start "over" as a perfect being?
I mean, reborn of God' seed and sealed with His holy Spirit?
You have been perfect from your rebirth, (unless it was a false rebirth).
Even from that point, we do increase in knowledge and grace, but it makes us no more perfect.
Just more knowledgeable and graceful.

curious eve did sin first but Adam was given the instructions wonder where he was .he ate of it also and sinned .. wonder why he didn't say NO eve do not listen to the devil hath God said and do not eat this
He was surely to be faulted for both not keeping his wife close enough to "be the husband/man", and for his own disobedience.
you must be a good Baptist women to usurp authority over the man
Nope, I am a good man who has been reborn of Gods seed.
Thanks be to God.
No bad men are reborn of God seed.
It cannot bring forth the devil's fruit.

yes and NO no were not the sinner we use to be--- justified but we will sin my little chidden i write these thing to you THAT YOU SIN NOT. but if you do {we will} we have a advocate
So...we will just be "better" sinners?
I hope that sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me.

Then Jesus failed.
Of course I do not agree.
how do you figure Jesus failed ? he was complete perfect w/o sin we dont reach full completeness /perfection till we finish the race on earth fully sanctified till that time we are a work in progress grow in the grace and knowledge

ok so we rip out sin not if we do we have a advocate .my bad i must get a new Bible . back to beating the dead horse he just wont get up.. just like this post is like a mule looking at a new gate wondering where it come from.. :horse:horse:horse:thumbsup

Romans 7:24-25

King James Version

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

back to the dead horse :horse :horse :thud

When Jesus enters our heart and life, we are born again, a new creation and Satan flees away. So yes, I started over again, a sinner saved by grace, and still living under grace. Praise God.

When did putting down the bottle become synonymous with being born again?

What do you mean by putting down the bottle?
PS There is no sound on my tablet.

Being born again has been redefined in modern times from being baptized (what it meant in historical Christianity), to being the point in time when one decides to kick a bad habit, like putting down the bottle, or when one gives up a particular sin.

The fact is….you don’t really care what the Bible says. You only want your pet doctrines you have based your life on. When anybody challenges that, like me, they become a child for daring to do so.

Obviously you can't discuss things in an adult manner. Personal insults show your true character. Until you can discuss the issue I won't continue this conversation.
Who is the one posting passages for review? And who is the one calling me a “child”? Go back to post 101 and tell me what is childish about any of it? Thats as adult as adult can be and you pretty much spit in my face and tell me I dont know what Im talking about. This is pretty much the only response I ever get on this ”christian forum”?
You will know them by their fruit.

Why is it so hard for some people to accept that God, the creator of the universe, can give gifts of all kinds, including the gifts of the Spirit, to whomever He chooses, whenever He chooses, and however He chooses?

God has given me many gifts throughout my life, and hopefully will continue to do so until I am finally with Him.

I think teaching like that is Satanically inspired.

It is certainly not biblical. Besides, we are not saved by our own works. Neither can we save ourselves. Neither does being good cleanse us from sin.
